Do Peloton Shoes Work on Other Bikes?
Peloton shoes use a Delta-Compatible Cleat which fit to SPD Pedals and can be used on any type of bike that has SPD pedals including a regular bike, a spin bike or Echelon bike. If your bike has mountain bike pedals your Peloton shoes won’t be compatible.
However, for most indoor spin bikes SPD pedals are standard and therefore the Peloton shoes will work on them. It is worth noting that not all pedal-shoe combinations are created equal. The Peloton shoes are designed to have a stiff sole, which helps to maximize power transfer when you push down with your feet on the pedals.
Some other brands of cycling shoes, such as Shimano and Giro, may not provide the same level of performance. It is worth doing some research to see which type of cycling shoe will be best for your particular needs.
Do Peloton Shoes Work on Regular Bike?
Peloton shoes will work on a regular bike as long as the bike has SPD pedals, the Peloton shoes will fit these pedals and be usable. However, if your regular bike doesn’t have SPD pedals and you have invested in Peloton shoes you can easily change your bike pedals to make them compatible with Peloton Shoes.
Not ready to buy a pair of Peloton shoes yet? Good before you spend $150 on Peloton shoes here’s a list of my recommended cycling shoes cheaper and better than Peloton shoe but still work on a Peloton bike.

Peloton shoes will work on Echelon bikes. The Peloton shoes use a Delta-Compatible cleat which fits onto SPD pedals and this type of pedal is standard with all models of Echelon bike. Therefore you can use your Peloton shoes on an Echelon bike without any problem.
The only difference you will find with a Echelon pedal is it has a toe guard that surrounds the pedal. But the pedal is an SPD pedal so you can clip your Peloton shoes into any modal of Echelon Bike. Im my option Echelon shoes are no where near as good as Peloton shoes so if you have the choice I would buy the Peloton shoes for my Echelon bike.
Therefore, do peloton shoes work on other bikes? The answer is yes they can be used a any type or style of bike, indoor bike, spin bike or other brands like Echelon that also have SPD pedals, but you can change the pedal to SPD very easily. Here’s a link to my favourite SPD pedals.
Are Peloton Shoes the Same as Cycling Shoes?
Peloton shoes are the exact same as any style of cycling shoes because the have a Delta-Compatible Cleat which fits onto SPD pedals. You can change the cleat to fit other pedal types like other cycling shoes. The only difference between a Peloton shoe and cycling shoe is the branding.
Peloton shoes are made from the same materials as any other cycling shoe. They have a hard bottom which helps to maximise power transfer when peddling and a quick ratchet clip, plus hook and loop straps to adjust the fit which you will find on any good cycling shoe.
The only issue with a Peloton shoe is it has mess material at the toes of the shoe. This isn’t ideal for outdoor cycling in wet weather or when its raining because your feet will get cool and wet. You can easily over come this with a pair of cycling shoe covers which I recommend on any cycling shoe during wet weather or winter. Here’s the cycling shoe covers I use all year round.
Do Peloton Cleats Work with Other Bikes?
Delta-compatible cleat used on Peloton shoes fit onto SPD pedals and will work with any bike that has those kinds of pedals. You can easily change the cleats if you want to use different type of cycling shoes.
The best part is the Peloton cleat are universal so if you are changing from another brand or model make sure your new cleats have the same measurements as the Peloton cleats. A pair of replacement cleats on Peloton will cost around $40. You can find the same cleats on Amazon for less than $10, link here if you want to buy some replacement Peloton cleats.
